Nice round-trip up to the Hohe Wand from Dreistetten via the Leiterlsteig (A)
The tour starts at the parking Dreistetten (GPS: 47.855272, 16.099718) and first follows the Notabfahrt road west-wards. At the crossing, it follows the street west-wards through the forest and follows the hiking trail towards Leiterlsteig. After ascending the easy Leiterlsteig via ferrata (A), the tour offers an amazing view from the rest area. The tour then follows the street passing by the Kohlröserlhaus and then towards the Herrgottschnitzerhaus. After a short break, the tour then follows the easy trail downwards (keep left to not end in the Drobilsteig!). The trail automatically leads into the Notabfahrt which is followed back till the parking.
Tour Description
| 00:00 | Start at the parking in Dreistetten (GPS: 47.855272, 16.099718) and follow the gravel road heading south-west (away from the houses, along the sport area). |
| 00:02 | Turn right and follow the gravel road (Notabfahrt) west (along the Hohe Wand). |
| 00:08 | At the crossing, follow the gravel road on the left hand-side (leave the Notabfahrt) into the forest. |
| 00:15 | Keep right at the crossing and stay again right at the next crossing. |
| 00:18 | At the crossing, go straight and follow the trail through the forest. |
| 00:20 | Turn left at the crossing and follow the hiking trail along the Hohe Wand (forest on the right hand-side, meadows on the left hand-side). |
| 00:35 | Turn right at the crossing and follow the trail through the forest. |
| 00:50 | Turn right and follow the street at the Hubertuskapelle. (Follow the signposts towards Leiterlsteig). |
| 01:00 | Follow the trail at the end of the street upwards towards Leiterlsteig. |
| 01:05 | At the begin at the Leiterlsteig, ascent using the iron rungs and follow the via ferrata. |
| 01:08 | After the traverse (end of the via ferrata), follow the trail upwards. |
| 01:10 | Turn right at the crossing and follow the trail upwards to Kohlröserlhaus. |
| 01:15 | Cross the forest street (2x) and follow the trail upwards. |
| 01:20 | Break at the rest area (park bench). Enjoy the view (best enjoyed with a self-brought ). |
| 01:50 | Continue following the path (and after few meters the street) east-wards. |
| 01:55 | Well deserved break at Gasthof Kohlröserlhaus ( ). |
| 02:55 | Continue following the street east-wards. |
| 03:00 | Turn right and follow the trail east-wards. |
| 03:15 | Follow the street for a few meters and then turn right downwards to Herrgottschnitzerhaus. |
| 03:16 | Pass by the Herrgottschnitzerhaus and follow the trail on the left hand-side (straight ahead!). |
| 03:25 | Turn left and follow the easier trail downwards ( The trail straight ahead (Drobilsteig) is an easy via ferrata). |
| 03:35 | At the crossing, continue straight ahead (2x) and follow the forest road (Notabfahrt) downwards. |
| 03:40 | Keep left and follow the forest road. |
| 03:50 | At the crossing, turn left again and follow the gravel road till the parking. |
| 03:55 | Back at the parking, end of the tour. |
