Hike up the highest mountain of the Estern Carpathians (Romania), the Pietrosul Rodnei and enjoy the scenic view from Buhăescu (mic and mare)

The tour starts in Borșa (small parking on the road towards the church Borșa Pietroasa) and follows the white-blue-white marked mountain road / trail towards Iezer with its weather station, its camping area and its beautiful mountain lake. The tour then ascends nicely and not too steep towards the saddle from where the summit of Pietrosul Rodnei is just a few meters away. The tour then goes back to the saddle and descends southwards and then ascends to the already visible and distinct Vârful Buhăescu Mare and then to its smaller sister Vârful Buhăescu Mic. After enjoying the amazing scenic view, the same way is used for descending back to the parking.
