Hiking Tour: “Rappoldkogel & Brandkogel”

The tour starts at the parking at the Altes Almhaus and first follows the traces of a trail southwards up to the visible Wölkerkogel. The tour then descends westwards back tothe main hiking trail 05 and follows the trail southwestwards. At the main crossing, the tour then uses the trail 05b, leading up to the summit of Rappoldkogel with its very impressive distance view. The tour then either follows the same way back to the Altes Almhaus but this time bypassing the Wölkerkogel by staying on the main hiking trail, or by continuing descending southwestwards and then at the crossing turning left and following the main hiking trail back. At the parking, the tour crosses the parking and follows the trail opposite northeastwards to the already visible Brandkogel. The summit cross can be reached by either an easy climb (direct route) or by following the trail around and ascending from the back via a normal hiking trail.
 

Tour Description

00:00	Start at the parking Altes Almhaus (GPS: 47.083295, 14.924511) and first follows the trail southwards behind the hut up to the visible peak of Wölkerkogel.
00:05	Enjoy the view from Wölkerkogel and check-in using SummitLynx.
00:10	Descend westwards back to the visible main hiking trail 05.
00:20	At the crossing, keep right and continue following the marked hiking trail 05.
00:30	At the crossing, keep straight (slightly right) and leave the main hiking trail 05 but follow the marked hiking trail 05b up to Rappoldkogel.
00:45	At the crossing, keep straight and continue following the hiking trail upwards.
00:55	Follow the hiking trail throught the mountain pasture leading directly up to the peak of Rappoldkogel.
01:15	Enjoy the impressive view from the summit of Rappoldkogel, obviously best enjoyed with a self-brought refreshment ().
01:35	Follow the same way back to the parking at Altes Almhaus.
02:20	This time, stay on the hiking trail and bypass Wölkerkogel.
02:30	Cross the parking and continue following the trail on the opposite side towards the already visible Brandkogel.
02:45	Enjoy the view from Brandkogel.
02:50	Head back to the parking on the same route.
03:05	Back at the parking. Enjoy a well-deserved break at the Altes Almhaus ().
