Walk up towards Großer Otter before or after a great meal at Kummerbauerstadl
The tour starts at the parking Kummerbauerstadl and follows the easy forest road up towards the alpine pasture between Mitterotter and Großer Otter. The final ascent can be done via the exciting hiking trail through the forest that allows at the end promising views towards Rax / Schneeberg or simply by following the easier forest road. After enjoying the impressive scenic view from the summit of Großer Otter (towards Rax, Schneeberg and Semmering), the descent is done by simply following the forest road back towards the parking.
Tour Description
| 00:00 | Start at the parking Kummerbauerstadl (GPS: 47.623311, 15.885887) and first follow the street back for a few meters. |
| 00:02 | Turn left into the forest road at the first possible occasion. |
| 00:20 | Follow the hiking trail through the amazing mountain pasture. |
| 00:25 | At the crossing, turn left and follow the marked hiking trail through the forest up towards Großer Otter. Optionally, you can continue following the forest street up (easier but not as scenic). |
| 00:40 | Enjoy the view towards Rax/Schneeberg and continue following the trail. At the crossing, keep straight and follow the trail up towards the summit cross of Großer Otter. |
| 00:43 | Enjoy the amazing scenic view from Großer Otter. |
| 00:50 | Turn right, descend towards the meadow, turn right again and follow the gravel road through the forest back to the parking. |
| 01:05 | Cross again the mountain pasture and continue following the forest road back (same as used for the ascent). |
| 01:25 | Well deserved break ( ) at Kummerbauerstadl. End of the tour. |
