Tour Description

00:00 Start at the parking lot Nasskamm (GPS: 47.706643, 15.658779) and follow the red-white-red marked forest road upwards (bypassing two gates).
00:15 At the crossing, turn left and follow the red-white-red marked forest road.
00:40 At the crossing, turn right but then use the small trail on the left hand-side up to Kleine Nass / Nasskamm.
00:42 At the crossing of Nasskamm, turn right and follow the trail towards Gamseck (see signposts).
01:05 After the u-turn, turn sharp right into the small trail (watch out for the red-white-red stake!) towards the Zimmermannhütte ( This crossing can be easily overlooked, especially in winter and will lead to a dead-end).
01:10 Pass by the Zimmermannhütte and follow the red-white-red marked trail upwards.
02:00 At the Gupfsattel, turn right and follow the steep trail upwards to Grabnergupf.
(In case you have time, you can continue towards Zahmes Gamseck keeping slightly left (but straight). Do not follow the trail on the left hand-side, it will lead you towards Wildes Gamseck (UIAA II+ climbing route).)*
02:15 Enjoy the awesome view from Grabnergupf. A perfect place to have some self-brought meal and refreshments ().
03:00 Descend the same way like the ascent.
03:20 At the Gupfsattel, turn left and follow the same route downwards as used for the ascent.
04:20 Back at the parking, end of the tour.

* Please note: the Gamseck is subject to avalanches, thus take extra caution when hiking on these trails in winter!

Comment: I was the first doing this tour this winter, so no footprints or marking were visible in the snow (The initial plan was to ascent the Rax via Zahmes Gamseck but due to tricky snow conditions and avalanches the plan had to be changed!
