Climb Türkensturz via the Pittentaler Steig (C/D)
The tour starts at the parking in Gleißenfeld (GPS: 47.679844, 16.132235) and first crosses the river Pitten. Directly after the bridge, continue straight ahead upwards the steep forest trail which leads then to the crossing towards the Klettersteig (via ferrata). The ferrata itself is rather short but classy and very exposed. It starts with a climbing tree, followed by some steep parts and then a very exposed traverse. The crux is the steep headwall at the end which then ends at the ruin of Türkensturz. After exploring the ruin, the tour follows an easy hiking trail towards the Castle Seebenstein, whereas first a detour to the Lutherkanzel (vista point) is recommended. After a short sightseeing of the castle, the tour then follows the forest road downwards towards Seebenstein and then a paved road back towards Gleisenfeld (parking).
